Saturday Class

Take the 30-hour driver education class. Once the class has been successfully completed, the students will be placed in the queue for behind-the-wheel driving at their WCPSS-assigned base high school.

These classes are open to any students actively enrolled in Wake County public, private or home school or live in Wake County are eligible to attend a Saturday Driver Education course in Wake County as long as they met the following criteria:

Sheltered Enrollment for Students in Verifiable Extra-Curricular Commitments

Must provide official proof confirming involvement in scholastic activities that prevent enrollment in after-school driver education classroom sessions.

Inability to provide official documentation will result in removal from this sheltered class, along with a full refund.

Documentation should appear on official letterhead with appropriate personnel's contact information - email and phone number, and be submitted through email to mbrooks@jordandriving.com after students online registration is complete.

We anticipate classes will fill up quickly this morning when registration starts at TBA. Please remember to refresh your page and only use one device when registering your student.

If there are no classes listed on this page, all classes have been filled to capacity. You will need to wait for the next registration period. There are no waitlists for future classes. Contact your lead instructor if you have questions. Their contact information is on this page. Please do not contact the JDS office staff, as they cannot make exceptions to these rules.

Driver Ed Package
Please pay attention to the age restriction imposed during our registration process. If you do not meet the age requirement by the first day of class, you will need to select a future class or wait until the next registration period once the age limit has been reduced. Contact your lead instructor if you have questions about the age requirement. Their contact information is found on this page. Please do not contact the JDS office staff, as they cannot make exceptions to the rules outlined in the registration software.

- 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons
- 6 hours of in-car observations
Note: Courses are only for schools within Jordan's Driving School's jurisdiction (schools and residents of Wake County). Should you be ineligible and pay for registration on this site, you will be removed from the roster and forfeit your registration fee.

Vision Screenings

A DMV representative will conduct a vision screening on a scheduled date. If you successfully complete the screening, a Restricted Instruction Permit is issued that allows you to take behind-the-wheel lessons. This permit is held by the driving school.

Your permit will not be issued if you are absent on the day of the vision exam, forget your corrective lenses, fail the vision test, or do not fill out your permit paperwork correctly. You will need to wait until the next vision screening to get your permit.

If you fail the vision screening, you will be given an 804 form to take to a vision specialist. You will need to turn this form in to your instructor and wait for the DMV representative to approve your paperwork at the next vision screening. If the specialist prescribes corrective lenses, you must wear them while driving.

You will not be able to take behind-the-wheel lessons until you have taken the 30-hour classroom and passed the vision screening given by the DMV representative.
